Merge duplicate companies, log calls anywhere, assign tasks, and an email dropbox
Merge two companies with a preview; log calls and emails by hand on any record; give tasks assignees; sort and page every list; BCC a company dropbox address to log email automatically; deposit percentages on contract templates; and a batch of calendar fixes.
Highlights
- Merge duplicate companies. From a company page pick the survivor, preview exactly which fields are kept, filled in or dropped and what moves, then confirm. Old links land on the survivor with an explanation. Opt-outs are never lost in a merge.
- Log a call or an email by hand on any customer, contact, property, opportunity or job, with an Activity timeline on each.
- Tasks have assignees — a person or a team — with inline reassignment and an Assignee filter.
- Email dropbox. BCC your company's dropbox address (or forward mail to it) and the email appears on the matching customer's timeline; anything that doesn't match waits in a new Communications review page.
- Sort and page every list. Customers, Opportunities and Contacts sort by column header; Lists show member counts; the Contacts page shows the real total and pages past 25.
What changed
Companies and contacts
- Company merge with a field-by-field preview and a "Merged from" list on the survivor. Not reversible.
- Do-not-call and marketing opt-outs survive a merge: a dropped number or address stays blocked, and an opt-out moves to the survivor only when its number or address does.
- Edit a contact's name and notes; the Contacts card shows the true count and links each name to the contact; New contact from a customer takes an email and phone.
- A service address entered on a customer's Edit page now saves (it was silently dropped) and prefills.
- Website and link fields accept
example.comand save it ashttps://example.com— custom URL fields, trade fields, calendar meeting links.
Lists, filters and sorting
- Click a column header on Customers, Opportunities or Contacts to sort; Stage sorts in pipeline order and blanks go last.
- The Lists page shows member counts and sorts; recipients sort and page past 200.
- Filter by tag on Customers and Opportunities now works (it showed "No accounts found") and filters every page, not only the one you are on.
Tasks and communications
- Pick a person or team when creating a task, change it inline, filter by assignee or "Unassigned", and create tasks from the Tasks page.
- Log calls and emails at any record level; calls logged "with Jane" appear on Jane's contact page too.
- Communications review page: everything the dropbox could not match, with a one-click link to the right customer.
Custom fields
- Fill custom fields while creating a record (required fields block the save); everyone can see custom fields (previously only admins could); hiding a field no longer blocks saving records that still carry a value for it; the field dialog picks the level and suggests sections as you type; the inert "Searchable" switch is gone.
Calendar and recurring services
- Cancelled events are struck through and hidden by default; a "Show cancelled" switch brings them back. No-shows stay visible, struck through.
- Filtering the calendar by assigned user shows the events a person is on, not the ones they created.
- The first occurrence of a repeating event no longer appears twice.
- Creating a recurring schedule puts its visits on the calendar immediately (previously after the nightly run), and a schedule that could never generate visits is refused with a clear message instead of saved silently.
Contracts
- Contract templates carry a Deposit %; new contracts snapshot it (or a negotiated value), and a deposit-invoice automation can bill that percentage instead of a fixed one.
