Help Center, sending from your own Gmail, Drive links and data import
The in-app Help Center opens from the account menu; your AI assistant can send email from your real Gmail address; attach Google Drive links to records; custom fields reach customers and opportunities; and a fix for the contract button that cancelled instead of revising.
Highlights
- The Help Center is live. Open Help from the account menu (top right) for task-based articles across every area of Planes, with instant search. Your AI assistant can search the same articles.
- Send email from your real Gmail address through your AI assistant — threaded under the conversation you are replying to, never from a Planes address.
- Attach a Google Drive link (or any secure link) to a customer, opportunity, job or estimate. Planes keeps the link, never a copy of the file.
- Custom fields now show on customers and opportunities, not only contacts.
What changed
Help Center
- Help lives in the account menu. Articles are grouped by area — Getting Started, Contacts & Customers, Opportunities & Estimates, Contracts & Signing, Scheduling & Calendar, Service Visits, Invoicing & Payments, Recurring Services, Inventory, Teams & Tasks, Workflows, Communications, Tags & Lists, Reporting, Integrations and Settings — and the search box filters as you type.
- Ask your AI assistant "how do I…" and it answers from the Help Center.
Email and documents
- Gmail sending. With a Google Workspace connection and the Gmail sending option turned on, your assistant can send mail from your own address: replies thread correctly in Gmail, each message is capped at 10 recipients, and each account sends at most 50 messages a day. Admins only for now.
- External document links. Documents on a record can now be a link to a file that lives elsewhere (Google Drive, Dropbox, a shared folder). It appears in Documents with an Open link action.
- The privacy policy states that the Gmail integration is send-only and never reads your mailbox.
Custom fields
- Custom fields appear on customer and opportunity Details cards and edit pages, not only on contacts.
- Companies whose data was migrated into Planes keep their original creation dates, tags, custom fields and company/property links. Nothing changes for companies that were not migrated.
