Recurring billing launch, opt-out controls on every record, and a safer email dropbox
Recurring billing is live with scheduled invoices, durable pay links, PDFs and reminders; opt a contact or customer out of marketing or calls from the record; the email dropbox now captures only mail involving people you designate; pipeline stages get Won/Lost outcomes and a Status filter; and QuickBooks payments stop double-counting.
Highlights
- Recurring billing is live — scheduled invoices, pay links that never expire, invoice PDFs, overdue reminders and cards on file. Full note: Recurring billing: scheduled invoices, durable pay links, PDFs, reminders and cards on file.
- Opt-out controls on the record. Opt a contact's email or phone, or a customer, out of marketing email or calls and texts right from the record, and see why someone is opted out and since when.
- The email dropbox captures only what you choose. Dropbox mail is stored only when a person you designate is on it; a company-domain match links mail to the right customer; a review page with dismiss, ignore-sender and an "unverified sender" badge.
- Won / Lost on pipelines. Mark end stages as Won, Lost or Other and filter Opportunities by Open, Closed, Won or Lost.
- QuickBooks payments no longer double-count.
What changed
Recurring billing
- See Recurring billing: scheduled invoices, durable pay links, PDFs, reminders and cards on file for the full launch note: schedules, the period ledger, pay links, the pay page, PDFs, overdue tab and reminders, price changes and adjustments, cards on file.
Marketing and contact consent
- Opt a contact's email or phone, or a customer, out of marketing email or calls/texts from the record itself. Badges show the state; the tooltip shows the reason (by hand, by a connected tool, from import, via another record) and the date. Read-only users see the badges.
- Imported "Do Not Send Email"-style fields are informational only; the help article says so.
Email dropbox
- Behavior change — capture is off until an admin turns it on and chooses who is covered. Dropbox mail is stored only when a covered user (or a designated external address) is on the message; everything else is dropped before it is stored. Companies that used the dropbox before this release capture nothing until an admin enables it under Settings → Integrations → Email Dropbox.
- Company-domain matching. When an email's other party is not an exact match for a customer or contact, Planes links it to the customer whose email shares the same company domain (never for personal-mail domains). This applies to every logged email, not only dropbox mail.
- Review page: select rows and dismiss them, Ignore sender to stop future mail from an address or domain, filter by source and match type, and an unverified sender badge on mail that failed authentication.
- Unlinked dropbox mail is deleted automatically after the retention window your admin sets (30 days once a policy is saved; 0 keeps it). Linked mail is never auto-deleted.
Pipelines
- End stages carry an Outcome — Won, Lost or Other — set in the builder.
- The Opportunities list has a Status filter (Open / Closed / Won / Lost), and its stage filter groups stages from older pipeline versions.
- The workflow builder validates the pipeline live as you edit, showing problems before you publish.
- A transition's Automatic only toggle hides it from Move buttons while events and automations still use it.
